H M Queen Elizabeth II

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of the late Queen.  She had not only served this nation for just over 70 years, but she also served her Lord and Saviour, Jesus.  Although she often talked of her faith, especially in her Christmas broadcasts, since her death and at the funeral, we heard more of what she believed and trusted in.  We pray that the people who heard of that faith may be touched by it and want to know more.

We give God thanks for the way Queen Elizabeth was able serve the people she loved and pray that King Charles III may have learned from his mother to put his total trust in our Lord.

Christmas is coming

We cannot get away from it, only a few more weeks to Christmas, which means that Penny will soon be putting out the Christmas stock.  At the time of writing, not all of it has been delivered, but the plan is to have it on display by early October.  If you are making a special trip into the shop for Christmas items, especially in the first couple of weeks in October, it may be worth giving the Shop a ring, just to make sure.

As usual, we will have a wide selection of Christmas cards, all bearing a (often discreet) Christian message or Bible verse – a lovely way to spread the true meaning of Christmas.  We also have a range of books and other items that would make suitable gifts for all ages.

Vacancy – Café Manager

We recently advertised for Grace’s replacement as Deputy Manager, but since then we have decided to change the post to Café Manager.  It is a similar job, but without some of the admin.  However, if the Café Manager shows the aptitude, then they may, after a year or so, be able to take on the role of Deputy Manager with a view to becoming the Manager when our current Manager retires.
